Schopenhauer’s Two Points

Schopenhauer espouses that to face life’s hardships,
One must embrace asceticism, art, and philosophy.
But I would argue that to truly understand these things,
Empathy is required to avoid the despair of pessimism,
And see the truth beyond our narrow perspectives.
